The Last Lecture
On August 15th, 2007 Randy Pausch was told that he only had 3 to 6 months of good health before his pancreatic cancer overwhelmed him. In good spirits, and humor, he is still here 7 months later. He updates his progress as he is able in a blog like format, and remains positive about his battle.
Pausch is notable as a trailblazing Virtual Reality and Tech Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. I have to admit, I didn’t know who he was until I saw this video on youtube. Known as his “Last Lecture” it is inspiring, funny, interesting, and heartbreaking at the same time. No doubt a long lecture series video, but I could not be more thankful that I have seen this warming monologue on technology which hides a lesson on living a good life.
Typically I would place the video in this screen, but the limited size does not do it justice. I cannot encourage watching this enough, so again, here is the link:

We all know people who are suffering from cancer, and certainly most people have encountered someone litterally making their last stand. One thing always seems pervasive in that situation, the person suffering can turn almost anything in a positive light. Perhaps we all should have this disposition of cherishing the time we have.
